QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Who is a Candidate for Fat Freezing?

  • Men and Women of all ages
  • Healthy patients with one of more areas of fat that do not respond to diet and exercise
  • Most effective in removing fat from the abdomen, love handles (flanks) and back
  • Patients with realistic expectations of modest fat reduction (vs. large volume removal of tumescent liposuction)
  • Patients willing to consider multiple sessions to obtain optimal results
  • It is important for patients to have realistic expectations about the results of this procedure, as CryolipoSculpting is not designed to remove large volumes of fat like conventional liposuction procedures. It is considered a less invasive alternative for patients with modest-sized fat bulges.

What Happens During the FusioMed Procedure?

  • The procedure is performed without any sedation and takes one or more hours depending on the extent of the treatment zone. FusioMed uses a sophisticated applicator that vacuums the skin of the area to be treated and then performs a sequential process of intense heat (60º) and intense cold (-10º) able to target only the fat cells in that area. The body reacts with an inflammatory response which causes the natural disposal of the damaged fat cells. It follows a significant improvement in the shape of the body.
  • The results are usually visible two to four months after treatment (as early as three weeks), and will continue to improve for up to six months. Although these results are not as rapid as those achieved through liposuction, patients undergoing FusioMed can avoid the pain, risks and lengthy recovery times associated with these more invasive procedures.
  • Most patients who undergo FusioMed are highly satisfied with the results of their procedure and are able to enjoy a natural, slimmer appearance. The procedure may also be repeated for cumulative effects on fat reduction. The results are expected to last about as long as fat reduction achieved through traditional liposuction procedures.

Is FusioMed safe?

Since FusioMed Cryoliposculpt is a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure, it does not possess the same risks as a surgical procedure. The method offers patients many benefits over other fat reduction procedures. Some of these benefits include:

  • No downtime
  • No need for anesthesia
  • Pain-free
  • No incisions
  • High safety allowing most patients to undergo procedure

During the procedure, most patients remain completely comfortable and can read, listen to music and simply relax. Most patients are able to return to work and resume other regular activities the very same day. All procedures have post-treatment risks. With FusioMed, risks are primarily redness, bruising and reduced sensation in the treated area. These side effects are considered normal and usually go away on their own within a few days after treatment.

What are the typical results of FusioMed?

Many patients are satisfied after one treatment; however, during your consultation, we can discuss a treatment plan that will meet your specific treatment needs.

You may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after your treatment but typical maximal benefit is seen after 3-6 months. Your body will still be flushing out fat cells and will continue doing so for up to four to six months after treatment.

During CryoSculpting, the treated fat cells are eliminated. As long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle, long-term results should remain stable.

Can I return to normal activities after my procedure?

FusioMed is completely non-surgical so typically you can return to normal activities immediately. Some patients experience redness, minor bruising, tingling, numbness or discomfort in the treated area, but this is temporary and typically resolve within one week. Most patients return to work after the session is over.
